A poem reflecting on the little things that link us to our past.

Threads of Light
I wonder as I remember you,
do those who left a spark in one another
find some ways to remember each other by?
Those ancestors of not long ago
that I readily recall, as fireworks
lighting up my mind, blooming
Threads connecting us,
strengthening bonds
in the smallest of ways
An embrace,
a movie,
a craft, all threads of life
Woven together
to even older ones,
bound by small gifts
They and we, as receivers
of gifts and shows of love
reach near infinity.
Back and forth,
‘tween there and here,
we build a radiant tapestry.
Tiny threads span time
leap past locations,
from me to you, from you to them
We never know
how great the smallest
of gifts can be the brightest of lights.
