A poem inspired by recent weather.

A Glimpse of a Windy Spring Day
With spring’s stride
winds bluster and swirl
Leaves shining in emerald and jade
A thousand shards filled with light
Currents combing their fingers
through the swaying pine boughs
Airy travelers through realms
liminal nomads over land, sky, and sea
Gusts in a hurry
as the ferrymen of storms
Northerly and southerly winds
combine in a torrent of blows
The gentle, rumbling approach
of thunder and rain on the horizon
Then fiercely turns as
Pounding and rushing gales
Whispered prayers for protection
the four-armed cross ‘tween my fingers
Her sacred mantle encircling my home
my hearth enwrapped by Her care
